Dr. Abubakar Jimoh (NAFDAC Spokesperson) however stated that a similar ‘fee-waiver’ policy was initiated by the previous NAFDAC Director—Dr. Paul Ohi, but the waiver was open for graduates determined to set up an enterprise. The spokesperson also said that the agency has promised to deal with individuals extorting harmless Nigerians under the guise of NAFDAC registration. According to him, the agency has decided to cease to licensing professional consultants and deal directly with producers.

Dr. Jimoh also added that NAFDAC had recently setup Small Business  Support Desk which is geared toward enlightening SMEs on the right way to setup their small factories.
