Google Doodles celebrated Chinua Achebe’s Post Humous Birthday

‘If you do not like someone’s story, write your own’

One man who lived by his words is Chinua Achebe, a Nigerian foremost author notably known for his books, was yesterday celebrated posthumously by Google on his birth date, the 16th of November 1930. If he had not died in March 2013, he would perhaps be celebrating his 87 years birthday.

Late Albert Chinụalụmọgụ Achebe,the author of ‘Things Fall Apart’, a novel considered as one of the best widely read book in Africa, is celebrated by Google, as the search engine changed its logo  with a doodle, an illustration of African’s greatest storyteller. 

Google Doodle is a special logo on Google’s homepage that is always temporarily alternated and intended to celebrate holidays, events, achievements and people. Achebe’s legacy was celebrated by the Doodle as he is surrounded by iconic images of his most famous literary works, Things Fall Apart and the arrow representing Arrow of God.

The colossus of African writing had won so many literary awards, and has been awarded 30 honorary degrees from universities around the world. He is, forever, recognized as the father of Modern African Literature.
